Who among us can resist poking around in the dark and creaky Restricted Section? Normally, you'd need a note from a professor or a cloak of invisibility to safely push past the gate and peruse those mysterious whispering (and occasionally shrieking) books. But no more! You can bring the Restricted Section straight to your own bookshelveswith the use of this magical sign. Here's a little bit about the sign we stole--borrowed, I said BORROWED from the library:
Made of wood, and stained to match the richness of the library's old wooden shelves, it measures 10 1/2" wide, 1 1/2" deep, and 2 1/2" tall. The letters are hand routed into the wood, and then painted black so that they stand out and warn all students wandering the corridors at night that this area is RESTRICTED. Go back to bed.
We need, in any case, to clean our windows; so that the things seen clearly may be freed from the drab blur of triteness or familiarity...
...We say we know them. They have become like the things that once attracted us by their glitter...we laid hands on them, locked them in our hoard...and ceased to look at them.
Creative fantasy...may open your hoard and let all the locked things fly away like caged birds. The gems all turn to flowers or flames...
...And you will be warned that all you had or knew was dangerous and potent, not effectively chained, free and wild; no more yours than they were you.
