Sam is such an inspiring character; his bravery is unexpected (even to him). Probably because most heroes have a backstory that sounds like a hero’s backstory. Sam’s doesn’t. He’s a gardener. And a fan of roast chicken.

But it’s these things, his love of home and hearth, that make him brave. Because he has something worth fighting for.

That’s why I absolutely loved searching for things that would be found in his kitchen. It’s a special place for him. Cooking for his family and enjoying a meal with friends…there’s just so much love in it all.

Most of these items were found in antique shops and I had to unbury them from their little hideaways.

Here's what's included in the set:

• Copper teapot (no lid)
• Two faux sprigs of green leaves, two faux sprigs of white "wheat"
• One wicker tea strainer
• One vintage potato masher
• One antique pewter salt shaker
• One pouch of real, dark green, reindeer moss

The copper pot just said "Samwise" to me. It just has that warm hearth look, and I filled it with faux greenery to bring his garden into the house. Keep in mind that the copper pot does not have a lid, and that its imperfections is what gives it its vintage charm!

The vintage potato masher seems essential to this set if it's to be called "Sam's Kitchen"! It has a beautiful, worn, wooden handle and a metal, wire base. The metal is a bit rusted, so do not use this item for actual cooking & mashing. It is meant for display only!

The pewter salt shaker still has its rubber plug at the bottom so it may still work as a shaker, but I haven't tried to use it, and it's really just intended for display. I love the contrast between the copper pot and the pewter shaker. I think Sam's house would look eclectic, since it probably has lots of heirlooms and hand-me downs.

The wicker tea strainer is probably not vintage, though I found it in an antique store. It is the most usable item in the set, but I really chose it for it's natural fiber look and to soften all the metal.

The pouch of moss will help to bring life to the entire set. It's dark green, and has a richer look than the bright green I've put in other sets.
